Aqualyx Treatment of Localised Adiposity

Aqualyx is an injectable compound solution of the deoxycholate family that targets localised areas of fat such as saddle bags, thighs, stomachs, chins and knees which are often resistant to exercise and diet. Aqualyx could also be used to treat ‘buffalo hump’ and pseudo-gynocomastia in men.
The fat-dissolving effect of this acid was utilised by Prof. Pasquale Motolese, and found to be effective in liquefying of the fat cell, destroying it permanently, releasing the lipids that are then eliminated naturally through the lymphatic system.

Aqualyx is administered by injecting solution to identified area via special cannular. The treatment will be repeated between two and eight times depending on the required result and are repeated every three to four weeks.
After each treatment a patients can expect some swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness in the area treated, which will subside after four to six days and could be managed with mild painkillers and support garments.
